Frontline Ferries puts Nigel at the forefront

Nigel Hughes, CEO of Birkenhead YMCA, exhibits his watercolour paintings of Isle of Man steamers at the 'Wilfred Owen Story', Argyle Street from 6th September 2011.

Many people showed a great amount of interest in the paintings including the Mayor of Wirral, Cllr Alan Jennings and Hughie Jones of the renowned Spinners folk group.

Dean Johnson who set up the 'Wilfred Owen Story' said "…what a fantastic day, I think the best I can remember at the Wilfred Owen Story. I just think the exhibition is superb and the feedback has been brilliant".

Dean goes on to say "… Nigel always presents things in a first class way and his professionalism is a credit to him".

Nigel and the Birkenhead YMCA have supported the 'Wilfred Owen Story' from its opening on 18th March 2011 and have continued to play a leading role in supporting the UK's first permanent exhibition of the war poet Wilfred Owen.

The exhibition of Nigel's watercolour paintings was packed with people really enjoying his work and reminiscing times gone by.

Nigel said "My wife Emma and I are really thrilled at the turnout and are pleased at the way my paintings have been appreciated by the public".

The 'Wilfred Owen Story' is really becoming established and thanks, Nigel, for leading them to another chapter of Wilfred Owen history.
