This page is a gateway that will give the public an opportunity to read a little of the personal journey from people we support.

The first story we have to share with you is that of Danny Milne.
Danny Milne will shortly be leaving Birkenhead YMCA where he has worked as a Night Services Officer for 22 months.  He is one of an ever increasing number of homeless people who take advantage of the YMCA’s unique training opportunities and make a fresh new start in their lives.

To say that Danny has achieved a lot is an understatement – he is a remarkable young man who has challenged adversity head on and overcome innumerable problems to become a highly regarded member of staff and an outstanding peer mentor.
In early February 2009 Danny flew out to Australia to continue his remarkable new life.  We are all proud to have worked with Danny and we will miss him a great deal - his enthusiasm and marvellous zest for life are quite inspirational.
We all wish Danny well in this exciting new chapter of his life.
